not everyone is blessed enough to own a 500cc GP bike. But in
case you do, Airtech still has bodywork to cover one. Even though
YZR500 was raced extensively in Europe, only two were ever imported
into the United States for racing. King Kenny Roberts brought
two YZR500s here to use in Formula USA battle and knew he would
need bodywork. There was only one place for him to call. Enter
Airtech.
It all worked out,
in the 91' Formula USA championship teammates Rich Oliver and
Robby Peterson jousted their way to first and second place respectively.
We still offer the
fairing parts for these pit bull machines!

We receive a lot of inquiries about fitting this stuff on the
RZ500 / RD500LC:
The tail section:
"Yes, it fits."
The front fairing: "No, but..."
... apparently it has
been done. People tell us they have seen pictures of it on the
internet. We do not have any information about this conversion.
The YZR500 fairing
is rather unique in dimension. We would rate the difficulty level
as very high, so in our humble opinion
it would take a very focused effort by an experienced fabricator,
to put the fairing on any bike other than an actual YZR 500.
Attempting
to do so will be a custom job and 100% at your own risk!! There
will be no returns or exchanges. |
