Who doesn't like the R1? It is
sleek, slender, exotic and fast looking, but $10,000 is a lot
of money. You already have an old beat-up FZR in the garage and
think of the beer you could buy.
What if we said you could make
your beat FZR look like an R1 in an afternoon and chicks would
flock around your bike? Well we can't guarantee the second part,
but we can definitely make your FZR look cool. Our FZR-R1 rebody
kit includes a 2 piece fairing assembly that has a single Hi-Lo
headlight stuck off to the left (endurance style) and still utilizes
the '89-'90 and '93-'99 ram air ducts. If you own a '91-'92' you
will have to obtain the high mounted ducts from a Yamaha shop
or salvage yard.
The tapered streamlined seat has
a distinctive R1 look. It uses the stock FZR upholstered seat,
stock DOT tail light and comes with a licence plate bracket. The
butt pad is available separately.
This R1 rebody kit wouldn't be
complete without an R1 looking front fender that bolts to the
stock FZR fork brace and to finish it off a rear swing arm fender.
All of the rebody panels can be
mounted using the stock FZR main fairing stay, while you simply
remove the lower mounting brackets. If your bike has been downed
we recommend replacing your possibly bent main fairing stay. No
cutting or fabrication is required, although small hand tools
like a drill, screwdriver and common sense are needed.
