The Rickman brothers, Don and Derek, started their career in off-road racing and started building road race frames in the mid-sixties. Under their 'Metisse' brand name they built nice double cradle-type, brazed, nickel plated frames that could be fit with a variety of british engines (ie. Triumph, BSA, Norton, Velocette).

The two Rickman Avon fairing assemblies pictured here are Richmond units. These two-piece units split underneath the upper and can be ordered without the lower, as a half fairing.

The uppers will fit both most bikes, the lowers will not fit inline fours (too narrow).

In the early seventies the Japanese burst the British bubble with their inline fours and in 1974, when BSA/Triumph went under, Rickman responded by building Competition Replica's (CR) based on the Honda CB750 and Kawasaki Z1 900 engines. The japanese fours were notoriously ill handling when pushed hard, and the Rickman chassis blew both the stock CB750 and Z1 frame out of the water.

We are currently working on molds for a Rickman seat, 3/4 fairing and CR fuel tank.

Rickman upper fairing - street
This version has the headlight hole in place, large enough to work with a headlight bucket and a chrome bezel. It is the perfect thing for a restoration project, or cafe customizing job.

This fairing looks especially bitchin' with a matching clear nose cone, available through vintage windscreen specialist Gustaffson.
