Vance & Hines knows a thing or two about going fast. When
Byron Hines decided to build a new drag bike, the one thing he
had to know was Airtech's phone number! In only six weeks we
put together one of the most aerodynamic Pro Stock bikes on the
circuit. Pictured is our totally enclosed body featuring full
skirting, an integrated rear fenderette, and a dual step seat
which allows the rider to raise and flatten his back for air
turbulence control. Skirting extends down to the rear belly pan and incorporates tunneling to suck the rear of the bike onto the tarmac. Can you spell traction? The leading edge of the fairing assembly is radiused to keep turbulent air attached. A full dash panel aids in combating high pressure bleed off. On the front of the belly section, a ramp extends out to meet the pressurized air box. After this bike was built, it didn't have to wait long to break it's first record. Byron Hines set the new NHRA record on his debut pass. We feel we did pretty darn good work... oh yea... that 'Hines guy did pretty good too! |
